Police officers in Rishon Lezion shot a man covered in blood who ran at them with a metal rod, causing him light to moderate injuries, The Israel Police said Wednesday.
Officers were alerted that the man, 50 a resident of the city, was roaming the streets and shouting that he had hurt someone. Bright Steel Bar

When officers located the suspect, he charged at them with the aim of causing injury and they were forced to open fire at his lower body to neutralize him, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital and officers opened a probe into the circumstances and to check if anybody else had been hurt.
